Mama

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints..." -Ps. 116:15

Dear friends and family.... our sweet grandmother, Mama, passed away this morning surrounded by her sons and family. She lived to be 89 years old.

It has been a long, long year of ups and downs for Mama and although we are deeply saddened by her earthly passing, we are joyful and confident that because she trusted in the Lord, she is with him today in heaven. Her body is healed and she is struggling no more. 

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." -Rev. 21:3

I am personally so thankful for this sweet lady, and so glad that I was able to call her my grandmother for the last 25 years. She was one of the kindest, most thoughtful, strong-willed, and loving ladies I have every known. Her love for the Lord and her family were her two priorities. Her passion were those relationships, and we will forever be changed because we knew her.

I praise God, that even in the face of death, He has provided a way for us to truly live....though our bodies decay and our flesh fails us...we are promised a new life with Him by trusting in Christ's finished work on the cross on our behalf. A trust that Mama took with her to her very last breath. 

"Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God, through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them." -Hebrews 7:25

Sweet Mama, I love you and miss you so much already....but rejoice in the promise that, even today, your faith is now sight! 

"So we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For these light and momentary troubles are achieving for us eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, and what is unseen is eternal." -2 Cor. 4:16-18
